Why I built Shy Pug

Shy Pug started as a birthday gift — a custom coloring book for a friend, made with a bit of technology and a lot of imagination. It worked so well that I decided to share it with everyone. There's a real dog in the story, too. 🐾

How do I turn a photo into a coloring page?

Is it really free?
Yes. You try without signing up, then create a free account to keep your coloring pages, make more, and bind them into a PDF book. No credit card asked.
Which photos make the best coloring pages?
Portraits, pets and well-lit subjects work wonderfully. Avoid very dark, blurry or cluttered photos: the clearer the subject, the prettier the coloring page.
What happens to our photos?
Your photos stay private: they're hosted in Québec, Canada (with OVH), visible only from your account, and never sold or used for advertising. They're transmitted securely to our AI partner (in the United States) only for the time of the transformation. You can ask for deletion anytime — all the details are in our privacy policy.
How do I print the coloring book?
Your book is exported as a US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) PDF with covers, a table of contents and numbered pages. Print it at home on a regular printer — black and white is all you need; that's the whole point!
Can I fix a coloring page I don't like?
Yes: in your workshop you can retouch a coloring page with a simple text instruction ("add a balloon", "remove the background"…) or just run the magic again on the same photo.
What ages is it good for?
The coloring pages have big, easy-to-follow outlines from ages 2-3 and up, and personalized subjects delight bigger kids (and grandparents!) too. The account is created and managed by a parent.
